#1: A healthy lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle is a big contributor to whether you are getting forehead wrinkles or not. The main culprits are usually sleep deprivation, extreme fatigue, stress, crankiness, dehydration and of course unhealthy diet. The first step is to work on these.

  • Ensure that you get a good 7-8 hours of shut-eye every night.
  • Follow a healthy diet – as you enter middle age, this is good for various different reasons, not just the wrinkles. Make sure you are having a lot of vibrantly colored fresh fruits and veggies because antioxidants are very important.
  • Stay hydrated – drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.
  • Practice yoga or do some exercise everyday.
  • Follow a proper skincare routine – sunscreen before going out, cleansing, toning, serum and moisturizer twice a day.

Now for other ways to tackle the wrinkles.

#2: Facial massage

A face massage allows you to use your fingers and stimulate the various pressure points on your face – in this case, mainly the forehead. The stimulation allows your muscles to let go of latent tension in them. This not only delays wrinkles, but can also reverse the ones that have appeared! The massaging also increases blood flow to your skin – which is a very good way to boost  your body’s own age fighting mechanisms.

Here’s how to do it:

#3: Olive oil massage

You’ve just seen how massages work. So now, let’s look at one of the beneficial things to combine with a massage. Take a few drops of pure extra virgin olive oil and a few drops of coconut oil. Warm slightly and use to massage.
The olive oil has antioxidants and the two oils together hydrate your face and keep it protected.

#4: Citrus fruit massage

Citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C – which is an excellent anti aging ingredient. Also, oranges and lemons contain Vitamin E – which is excellent for skincare. Make a paste of some of the pulp and some of the rind, and then use this to lightly massage. Then leave it on for a short while before washing off.

#5: Egg white and aloe vera gel

As you know, egg whites actually help to tighten skin – so they should help to reduce wrinkles as well. Besides that, both these substances are rich in vitamin E. Make a mixture of the two – it should have a paste like consistency. Apply a thick coat to cover your entire forehead and leave to dry for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water for best results!
And finally…

#6: Facial yoga!

Facial yoga is another avenue you can take. In the case of massage, you use your fingers to stimulate blood flow and to relax the muscles. But in this case, the theory is a little different. Wrinkles – on the forehead and anywhere else on your face, appear because the thin muscles that line your face are losing tone with age. Facial yoga seeks to ‘work’ these muscles to tone and tighten them. It is exactly what you seek to do in the gym or in a yoga class for the rest of your body.

The ‘exercises’ consist of creating resistance of specific muscles and working them against the resistance. Find out more details here:
